Adding Course Node Categories (Columns)

Though by default a Course workflow is made up of four course node categories (Preparation, Lesson, Artifact and Assessments), you may find an additional category is needed to reflect your Course workflow instructional processes. TIP: adding too many curricular decision types may make your workflow too complex to understand.


1. Ensure the “Add to Workflow” panel is active on the right to access the “New Custom Course Column”  node. If the panel is not displaying, click on the Plus (+) icon tab of the Workflow Builder:



2. Drag and drop the New Custom Column node to the workflow. This automatically creates a new category (column) space where the node will reside. 



Other ways to create an additional category: 


1. To add a blank category, hover over a column title to see the menu icons, and click on the Plus (+)  icon. This action inserts a New Custom Column next to the original.
