Sharing a Project

Modified on Mon, 11 Sep, 2023 at 5:48 PM

You can share access to a Project with specific users who have a CourseFlow account. This can be useful if you are collaborating on a Project with others to develop a workflow or series of workflows. With sharing, not only do you decide who you want to share your Project and its workflow(s) with, but also their level of access - View, Edit or Comment.

Sharing is unlike publishing where your Project and its workflows are made visible to everyone with a CourseFlow account. Go to Publishing a Project to learn more.

To share:

1. Navigate to the project you want to share.

2. On the Project page, select the Person icon (top action bar) to open the “Share Project” pop-up.

3. To invite collaborators, begin typing in the text box the username or name of the person you want to share your Project with. When the dropdown list of usernames appears, scroll through and select a collaborator.

4. Choose whether to grant them permission to Edit, Comment or View on the Project. It is important to understand the distinction between the three.

  • Edit – Users can edit the Project workflow(s), but cannot delete the Project.
  • Comment - Users can view and comment on the Project workflow(s).
  • View – Users can see, but not edit the Project workflow(s).

Keep in mind that if you share a Project with another user, the user will also have the same access for all workflows within the Project.

5. Once you have selected the right level of permissions, click on the "Share" button.

To remove a collaborator from your project, simply select the "Remove User" option from the dropdown:

When your list is complete, click on the pop-up “Close” button (bottom right). Your collaborators will display on the Project card under “Permissions”.
