Using Outcomes at the Program Level

Modified on Tue, 21 Mar, 2023 at 10:57 AM

Program outcomes, depending on the context, may have different names including competencies or graduate attributes. In the images, we will use the terminology of program outcomes, which is the default in CourseFlow.

Note that by editing the project details, the terminology used for the outcomes at various levels can be changed.

At the program level, outcomes represent the knowledge or abilities a student should have acquired by the end of the program. By tagging nodes with outcomes, you track the outcomes achieved by a student within that course.

The creation of program outcomes is almost always the first step in curriculum design. Once the program outcomes are decided upon, courses are designed to ensure that all the program outcomes are achieved through the program. Once the nodes representing courses have been created, nodes can be tagged with outcomes either in the workflow view or in the outcomes table.
