Creating Assignments

Modified on Tue, 10 Jan, 2023 at 9:56 AM

To create assignments, navigate to the "Assignments" subsection of your Live Classroom. When landing on the subsection, you will immediately notice two categories of tasks:

  • Assigned Tasks: contains tasks which you've already assigned
  • All Tasks: contains tasks available to assign. For tasks to be visible in this section, the parent workflow will have to be set to "Visible". You can achieve this by toggling the workflow visibility to "Visible" in the "Workflow Visibility" section (see "Workflow Visibility" article for more details)

Assigning a task

From the "All Tasks" section, you can simply select the task for which you would like to create an assignment, hover over the node and click on the icon which displays in the upper right corner:

Once the assignment is created, you will automatically be directed to your assignment's configuration options.

Edit tab

  • Dates: you will be able to set a start date and end date for your assignments. These dates will be used to correctly order the assignments on the student's view.
  • Single completion: if activated, this option marks the assignment as complete for all students as soon as one student has marked it complete.
  • Self reporting: allow your students to manually mark the assignment as complete.
  • Users: from the list of "Other Users", select a user, click on "Add" and they will appear in the "Assigned Users" column. You can also remove assigned users by selecting their name and clicking on "Remove". Once a task is assigned to a user, they can toggle between "Complete" or "Not Complete" (by ticking off the box next to "Complete" in the assignment
    • Students will only see tasks assigned to them
    • Owner of the workflow and all assigned teachers will be able to see all the tasks
  • Workflows: you can easily access your workflow or update its visibility directly in this section.

Report

This will allow you to see, at a glance, which students have completed the assignment. You will also be able to mark the assignment as complete on behalf of the student, whether or not the "Self reporting" option has been activated.
